Strengthening Partnerships: A Visit from the Embassy of Switzerland Nigeria

Yesterday marked a significant moment for us at RIA, as we had the privilege of hosting esteemed guests from the Embassy of Switzerland Nigeria at our office in Maiduguri, Borno State. Among the distinguished visitors were Mr. Nicolas Martin-Achard, the Secretary for Humanitarian Aid and Development Cooperation, and Ms. Hilda Ayejimiwo, the National Project Officer for Humanitarian Aid.

The atmosphere was filled with anticipation as we engaged in fruitful discussions about areas of mutual interest. It was an enriching experience to learn more about the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), their overarching goals, and their recent endeavors in supporting humanitarian efforts. Through our dialogue, we gained valuable insights into the diverse approaches and strategies employed by SDC to address pressing humanitarian challenges.

Conversely, we had the opportunity to share our own journey at RIA, tracing back to our inception at the PLRCAP NGOHUB, with steadfast support from SDC. We elaborated on our various programs, detailing the impactful work we do within the community and highlighting our collaborative efforts with other stakeholders. It was a moment of reflection on how far we’ve come and a testament to the transformative power of partnership.

As we exchanged ideas and experiences, there was a palpable sense of optimism about the future. We discussed potential avenues for collaboration and explored synergies between our respective initiatives. The visit served as a reaffirmation of our shared commitment to advancing humanitarian causes and fostering sustainable development in the region.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Nicolas Martin-Achard, Ms. Hilda Ayejimiwo, and the entire team from the Embassy of Switzerland Nigeria for gracing us with their presence. Their visit not only strengthened our bonds of partnership but also reignited our enthusiasm for the work that lies ahead.

In closing, we are filled with excitement about the possibilities that lie on the horizon. As we continue our journey, we remain steadfast in our resolve to create positive change and build a brighter future for the communities we serve.

Special thanks to Elise B. Ada James Samuel Adesida (PMD Pro) for her invaluable contributions to the success of the visit.
