Our Focus
Our primary goal is to ensure the well-being of marginalized groups and communities, with a particular focus on children and women.
At a Glance
We are dedicated to easing the suffering of the weak and marginalized people in sub-Saharan Africa as a youth-led non-governmental organization. Through advocacy, cooperative networking, capacity building, and empowerment, we seek to deliver extraordinary experiences to victims of armed conflicts and natural disasters, particularly women and children, so they can become self-sufficient and have access to equitable opportunities.
Improving Lives, Prioritizing Humanity
Be a Part of What we do.
Africa as a continent has been plagued by various issues that have led a lot of people into desperate need of humanitarian aid, which has increased the need to continuously offer humanitarian services and respond to the most vulnerable. Rise to Inspire Africa was founded with the desire to close this gap via advocacy, strategic partnerships, and teamwork in order to provide a comprehensive response to victims of insurgency, natural disasters, and conflict.
I am happy to welcome you all to the official webpage of the Rise to Inspire Africa (RIA) Initiative. I am hopeful that this website will provide you with information about the work that our organization is doing, and how we can potentially collaborate with each other.
RIA Initiative is a youth-led, women- and children-focused organization that works with the most vulnerable population of concern in Northeast Nigeria through advocacy, collaboration, and partnership. We continue to work with government actors and humanitarian and development partners to promote the rights of children, champion the cause of women and girls, and promote access to quality education and healthcare services for children and women through a combination of advocacy, collaboration, and partnerships aimed at bringing about sustainable change and lasting impact in the lives of the community and people we serve.
RIA Initiative’s programs are focused on education, child protection, anti-trafficking in persons, health, WASH, and civic engagement. We provide out-of-school children with access to alternative learning forms so they can gain foundational literacy, numeracy, and social skills to grow and thrive. Additionally, we support and build the resilience of conflict-affected children through proper case management, referral services, and psychosocial counselling. Also, we work to promote peaceful coexistence in vulnerable communities while countering violent extremist messaging and misinformation, not forgetting our work around community-led total sanitation and hygiene promotion.
Since our inception, we have provided direct services to over 9,000 beneficiaries; 35 learners returned to formal education, and over 3,000 people have been reached with critical messages about cholera and other waterborne diseases. Over 2,000 girls and boys have benefited from our structured recreational activities, and over 400 children between the ages of 6 and 16 are enrolled in our non-formal learning program.
Lastly, I would like to express my appreciation, gratitude, and respect to my fellow board members, our staff members, and our volunteers. I am equally grateful to our development partners for their support and for building our capacity to serve our communities.
Thank you.
